'And so I met my Other’s Other' - Julie Groves' immersive sound art

I had quite a large amount of fun writing the score for Julie Groves' sound-art work And so I met my Other’s Other - here's what it's all about.
And so I met my Other's Other (2017) (at Acts Re-Acts 4 - Wimbledon Space 4th March 2017) Julie Groves sound artist, with ‘happening score’ realisation (premiere) by composer Ed Scolding.
The work plays with the traditional roles of audience and performer, allowing audiences a level of choice about how they experience and influence the performance.
Performers are (mostly!) contained within a translucent raised box, with a gap at their foot level - the audience's eye level - so that you can look in and see the musicians if you wish, or remain further back and stay a little removed from the way the sound is being produced if you wish. For me this is a really refreshing way to experience music.
